The Instituto CentroAmericano de la Salud (Central American Health Institute) is a non-government, non-profit organisation, founded in 1992 and dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life of the population of the region and especially of the poorest and most vulnerable groups.


ICAS has a long track record of research and development of programs, e.g.the use of competitive voucher schemes to increase access to and improve thequality of sexual and reproductive health services (including STI/HIV/AIDS) for different vulnerable populations such as sex workers, theirpartners/clients, men who have sex with men, mobile populations, and also for low income adolescents and to increase access and quality of screening and treatment of cervical and breast cancer (Ginecobono).
